Overview
Product Features
The appearance of the Marshall Stanmore III retains the consistent Stanmore boxy classic design. No matter which color the shell is, it is matched with brass-colored panels and knobs.
The brass panel is standard Marshall, with lever switches, independent key combinations for controlling playback and song switching, input signal switching buttons and a 3.5mm interface for AUX access, as well as separate controls for volume, bass and treble output. Three knobs.
In terms of configuration, Marshall Stanmore III has been updated to support Bluetooth 5.2 connection. Officials say that after updating the Bluetooth module, the connection stability of Stanmore III will be stronger and the delay control will be better than before. During use, we also found that there is no problem using Stanmore III to play videos and directly connect to mobile phones via Bluetooth to play games.
However, Stanmore III is mainly positioned as a home speaker. It is more often connected to home speakers and computers in the form of wired speakers with RCA or AUX jacks. Mobile phones are often just connected to the speakers to play music at will. The usage mode is similar to ours. Small wireless speakers that you carry with you are different.
Here, the wireless performance of the Stanmore III only needs to maintain stable playback of music and videos. Occasionally, it can be played wirelessly with a mobile phone to play music, or it can be stably played even with a laptop or projector via Bluetooth, which is enough.
Marshall Stanmore III supports Marshall Bluetooth App control. The speaker can directly wake up the pairing mode when starting Bluetooth for the first time, and can play directly after connecting. In addition to playback control, the app also comes with a very common OTA upgrade function. Marshall emphasizes OTA upgrades so much, and I believe that some new features will be launched through OTA firmware updates in the future.
The sound performance part is believed to be the core upgrade point of Marshall Stanmore III.
Marshall Stanmore III is also equipped with a 5-inch woofer and two 3/4-inch tweeters. The tweeter used this time has a new outward-sloping design and is equipped with a new waveguide, Marshall officials said This processing can improve the sound field performance of Marshall Stanmore III.
Of course, the Marshall Stanmore III is also equipped with Marshall's dynamic loudness technology, which is used to adjust the sound pitch and control it in a relatively balanced state.
In terms of actual listening experience, Marshall Stanmore III is a standard Marshall style.
In the preset mode, the bass of Marshall Stanmore III is very prominent, the volume is sufficient, and the intensity is very strong, with the impact of a solid hammer.
Due to the SBC encoding, Marshall Stanmore III's performance in terms of information volume and details is not too outstanding and is generally adequate. Generally speaking, it is not bad to listen to rock or some ambient music. If you want to hear details, at least it is not recommended to connect via Bluetooth.
Since the RCA cable on hand is ultimately an AUX cable that is converted to a single 3.5mm connector, I just used an ordinary 3.5mm male-to-male AUX cable to connect the player.
In Bluetooth mode, it mainly shows the Marshall Stanmore III's own style, but after connecting to the wire, the sound characteristics of the playback device will be included.
After the updated waveguide and tweeter designs, the sound field performance of Marshall Stanmore III has been improved. Whether it is Bluetooth or wired connection, you can feel that the new generation sound field is more open than before and will not be limited to a small space. Inside, it feels a little less stuffy than the Stanmore II.
